Window Frame Card

I saw this technique on Splicoaststampers by Chat. Her card is beautiful. She has a tutorial posted on her blog here: Window Frame Tutorial

I used a little larger opening than her tutorial and I think it looks okay.

Rainy Days

I'm celebrating the rain here in Georgia after the severe drought we've been having. This is an ancient Stampin' Up! set that I couldn't part with because it's so cute.

All Dressed Up

Dusting off my Penny Black Stamps. I was off work today and decided to mess around with some of my stamps I haven't used in years. Not sure if I like this or not but I felt I had to do something creative. :)

Penny Black Stamp

I just love this little guy. I always need boys cards on hand so thought I'd make this today. I used prismacolors and gamsol to color.

I've gotten on a cupcake thing lately. I think I've had too much time to surf the net and get hungry at work waiting for my lunchbreak. Plus, I want to make gourmet cupcakes when I open my deli. I found this recipe whilst surfing arouond and made them last night. They are Delish! (as Rachel Ray says). I overfilled the tins, though so they weren't very pretty. The frosting is yummy but you have to follow the recipe exactly for it to be fluffy. Here's the link: http://www.foodnetwork.com/food/recipes/recipe/0,,FOOD_9936_32146,00.html

Here's a book I just ordered and can't wait to get it. Their site is:

Shrinkart Necklaces

Here are a couple of shrink art necklaces I made a while ago. They are really a booger to make so I haven't made any more. I have a problem with the punched holes for the joints and hair either closing up when I shrink them or snapping apart. I think maybe if I baked them in the oven it might work better. I use my heat gun because I'm so impatient. I get lots of comments when I wear them because they're so funky!

Art Quilt

I made this art quilt a while ago. I was going to send it to Stampington for their Sew Somerset mag and chickened out. The Monet picture is printed on glossy photo paper. I took a piece of felt and felted green and purple wool and then stitched to photo onto it. Then I took various fibers, beads and charms and attched around picture. The lace butterfly is an antique I inherited from my grandmother.

Baby Shoes

I made these last night for a friend at church. I got the pattern from http://www.stardustshoes.blogspot.com/. It was a little tricky but I'll do better on the next pair. They are really sweet....

Lazy Girl Wallet

I've been making these cute little wallets for friends. My kids' piano teacher requested one for her mom's birthday so I made myself one as well for a change. They're really fast and easy. Get your pattern at : Lazy Girls Designs

Wallet Purse

I made this wallet purse last month. The pattern is from My Favorite Things and you can get it at your local quilt store or Henerietta's Handbags.

Funky Apron

I made this bright apron a few weeks ago. I bought the fabric on sale a while back and kind of followed a pattern in a Quilts and More magazine. Of course, I modified it to a simpler pocket. The fabric reminded me of art from the 60's. My DH laughed and asked why I needed an apron and I told him I'm just a closet June Cleaver without the heels and pearls.

Car Cake

Here is what I made for Christmas dinner. I bought this cake mold on sale at Williams-Sonoma. The cars were really tasty!

Luna's New Coat

I made this coat for Luna last month and she looked so cute once I chased her down and wrestled it on her. Now, I can't find it anywhere. The boys were playing around with it and it's GONE. Well, spring will be here soon and I'll make her a new outfit...

Time for change

My life has taken a major turn that I never expected. My husband and I decided that since we're having midlife crisis, we might as well make a career change as well. We are in the process of opening a New York-style deli down the street in a new retail center. It is such an involved process learning about the restaurant industry, writing business proposals, calculating profit and loss, negotiating leases etc. We will be called "Ziggy's Deli" and I'll post our logo here. The goat is because our name (Ziegenfuss) means goat's foot in German.
I took a break from all the restaurant stuff today and looked at TONS of blogs and got so many creative ideas from other people. I wish I didn't have to work or sleep... just create! I worked on my blog this evening and updated the look and added an RSS feed.
I hope I can sew tomorrow. I have several purses I'll try to post as well.
